Annual Carol Service 2016
The Annual Barham Crematorium Carol Service in Association with the Pilgrims Hospice took place on Friday 16th December. The Service was conducted by Rev’d Ken Child from Canterbury Cathedral and Sue Baumbach a Civil Celebrant. The Rev’d Ken who was originally from Australia, gave a bit of an Aussie twist to the Christmas story and gave some background information of how the Carols sung came to be written and they were sung with enthusiasm by the congregation that filled the Chapel. The lighting of the Christmas Tree and the pacing of Tags inscribed with the names of loved ones was as always very moving. Following the service and before tea, coffee and mince pies were enjoyed, Darren Daughters presented cheques to the local selected Charities that were represented at the Carol Service. The sum of £2500.00 was distributed in total.
