Pilgrims Hospice Sunflower Memories

Westerleigh was proud to Sponsor the Pilgrims Hospice’s 2018 Annual Sunflower Memories Appeal for the fourth year in succession and Alan José, the Westerleigh Group Ambassador, was pleased to attend the Garden Party at the Ashford Hospice on Sunday 22nd July where a large number of people had come along to celebrate their loved ones with music and refreshments in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. As has been the case each year, the weather was kind with a little cloud cover being most welcome.

The Appeal this year looks to be on course to equal the record amount of £30.000.00 raised in 2017. To put the money into context:
£20.00 pays for an hour of nursing care
£35.00 pays for complimentary therapies to help soothe a patients anxiety
£50.00 pays for essential nursing supplies on wards or for patients being cared for at their home
£100.00 pays for therapy sessions to help an individual cope with the loss of a loved one

Overall The Pilgrim’s Hospices in Kent, located at Ashford, Canterbury and Margate need an income of over £11. Million each year so all fundraising is vital. Sue Sharpe, Director of Income Generation thanked Westerleigh for their generous support again this year and for working in partnership in the community with the Pilgrims Hospice on this and other events.
